DFO has announced  an overall TAC reduction of 15%, final sharing has yet to be complete, however DFO does authorize the harvest of 75% of 2010 SFA 6 fleet quotas as an interim basis while the sharing arrangement is being finalized.  Inshore Shrimp Fishery Opening

 

DFO advises that the inshore shrimp fishery in Shrimp Fishing Areas (SFA) 6 and 7, for vessels less than 100 feet, based in NAFO Divisions 2J, 3K north, 3K south, 3L and 4R, will open at 6:00 a.m. on Friday,  May 13, 2011.

Fish harvesters are reminded that fishing is not permitted in the inshore crab fishing areas.

Licence conditions are available at DFO licencing centers and fish harvesters are reminded that at-sea observer coverage services must be arranged prior to commencing fishing.
